(Kids) How do I change my username?

If you have a Guardian, you must ask your Parent, Teacher or Coach and they can request the change from within their Adult account by going to their "My Kids" index card, the hamburger menu (3 horizontal lines) and then "Edit Kid":

Here are the guidelines for custom usernames:

Usernames on ChessKid must be between 3 to 20 alphanumeric characters with no spaces or symbols other than - or _ and these symbols cannot be at the beginning or end of the username. Usernames must also be appropriate for young children, no adult themes or violence themes may be used. If your username is not approved, you will receive an email or message in your ChessKid Inbox.

All custom usernames must be approved by ChessKid.com staff (this can sometimes take a few days depending on how many username requests we have). Until your custom username is approved by our ChessKid staff you will need to log in with the computer generated username(s) given to you upon sign-up and the password(s) created for the account(s).
