Guardianship on ChessKid

Multiple adults can access a student's account to review their games or monitor their activity on the site. Kids can have up to 10 guardians, but only 1 primary guardian.

Here are the differences between the primary and the secondary guardian:

Guardian

Description

Primary Guardian

  • This is the only adult account that can assign a Gold membership to a kid account.

  • Often this is the parent, but sometimes it's a teacher, coach, or school.

  • They can review the kid's games and monitor their activity on the site.

Secondary Guardian

  • This adult account cannot assign a Gold membership to a kid account.

  • Any adult account with access to a kid account is a secondary guardian.

  • They can review the kid's games and monitor their activity on the site.
