ChessKid understands that you may not always be working with a student indefinitely, so you have several options to remove a Kid's account from your Teacher/Coach account:

Kids you still work with but no longer purchase Gold Memberships for

💡 This keeps the kid on your kids' list and maintains your guardian status, but you will no longer provide them with Gold access.

  • To disable the Gold Membership from your kids you need to click on 'Manage' in the menu at the top of your adult account and select 'Kids'

  • Click on the 'X' icon in the badge next to your kid's username to disable the Gold:

Kids you no longer work with but who may still log in to their ChessKid accounts, such as students who have graduated or moved to another school

💡 The kid will no longer appear in your Kids list, but their account will still exist.

Any kid is welcome to play with a Free account! We recommend simply disassociating your teacher or coach account from students you no longer teach.

  • From your adult account click on 'Manage' in the menu at the top and select 'Kids'

  • Click on the three stacked lines next to the kid account and select 'Edit Kid'

  • Click on 'Remove Guardianship' and select 'OK' on the pop-up confirmation message.

    • Alternatively, if a student's parent would like to purchase a Gold Membership individually for their child, you can transfer primary guardianship of the account to the parent by selecting 'Edit Guardianship' instead:

Kids who no longer use their ChessKid account at all:

💡 This option completely disables the account. It will no longer appear in your Kids list, and the student will no longer be able to use the account.

  • From your adult account click on 'Manage' in the menu at the top and select 'Kids'

  • Click on the three stacked lines next to the kid account and select 'Edit Kid'

  • On this new page, scroll down and click on 'Disable Account'

  • Click 'Ok' on the pop-up confirmation message to delete the kid account and remove it from your 'My Kids' list.
