Guidelines for custom usernames on ChessKid

When you sign up for ChessKid you are assigned a random username. If you want to choose your own username, it has to be approved by us first. When requesting a custom username, please make sure it meets these requirements:

  • Must be 3 to 20 characters long. Only letters, numbers, dashes (-), and underscores (_) are allowed.

  • No spaces or special symbols (other than dashes and underscores) can be used.

  • A username cannot begin or end with a dash or underscore.

  • Must be child-friendly—no adult, violent, or inappropriate themes.

How to change your ChessKid username

  1. In your ChessKid Parent account, click the cog wheel ('Settings') icon in the upper right corner of your screen, next to your avatar.

  2. Under the 'Account' tab, enter your new username in the text box under 'Username.'

  3. Click 'Save.' That’s it! Your request will be reviewed, and we’ll notify you once it’s processed.

Our team will review your username request as soon as possible. Processing time may take a few days, depending on the number of requests we receive.

If your requested username is not approved, we will notify you via email or in your ChessKid Inbox.

While waiting for approval, continue logging in with the username assigned to you at sign-up
