Visit the Chesskid.com website while on a regular computer browser:
(scroll down for app directions)
Log into your account
Click on the "Settings" icon
Toggle the sounds button to "Off"
Click "Save"
Here's how to disable the sounds from within the app:
Log into your ChessKid account
Click on the small green "Settings" icon next to your profile picture
On the next page, click on the same "Settings" icon again
Then "Sounds"
Next to "Background Music" and "Sound Effects", toggle the button from right to left to disable all the music and sound effects:
For all the sounds to be off, your sounds settings should now look like this:
