How do I assign or remove Gold from my kid’s account?

First, make sure your child’s account is linked to your Parent account via Guardianship and that your Gold membership was purchased through your Adult account to have Gold management capabilities.

Once the criteria are met, follow these steps to grant or remove Gold on your child’s account:

  1. In your Parent account, click 'Manage' in the top menu and choose 'Kids.'

  2. Next to your child’s username you’ll see a medal icon:

    • A green medal with a '+' means they don’t yet have Gold—click it to grant them Gold.

    • A gold medal with an 'X' means they already have Gold—click it to remove Gold access.

How to cancel a Gold membership purchased from a Kid account

If the membership was purchased through Apple, you’ll need to cancel directly via Apple. Click here to do so.

If the account has a solid gold medal with no X or + next to it, as shown in the picture below, it means the gold was purchased from within the Kid account, not the Parent account.

To cancel that membership, follow these steps:

  1. Log in to the Kid account and click the gear icon ('Settings') next to the avatar.

  2. On the Settings page, click the Subscription tab at the top and select 'Click here to update your billing info.'

  3. Scroll down and click 'Cancel Gold Membership.'
