How do I gift a Gold membership?

Learn how to gift a 1-year Gold membership on ChessKid and how the recipient can redeem their subscription.

Gifting Gold on ChessKid

Only Adult accounts (Parent, Teacher, or Coach) have the ability to gift memberships on ChessKid. If you’d like to give a Kid the gift of Gold, follow these steps:

  1. Log in to your Adult ChessKid account, and click the 'Gift a ChessKid 1-Year Membership' button on your homescreen.

  2. You’ll be taken to the checkout page, where you'll see a summary of your purchase and the total amount due. Complete the payment using the secure link or by entering your card information directly on the page. Once you’re ready, click 'Pay.'

  3. After payment, you will receive a ‘Purchase complete!’ page with a unique subscription code. An email will also be sent to you with instructions on how the receiver can redeem the code.

  • Can I gift a monthly membership?

    No, you can only gift a 1-year membership. There are no other gift options available.

  • Can I buy more than one gift membership?

    Yes, but each gift membership must be purchased in a separate transaction.

  • Can I set up auto-renewal for a gift membership?

    No, auto-renewal is not available for gift memberships.

  • What happens after I purchase a gift membership?

    After completing your payment, you’ll see a 'Purchase Complete' page with a unique subscription code. You’ll also receive an email with the same code and instructions. You can share this with the gift recipient so they can activate their Gold membership.

  • Is there a difference between a regular Gold membership and a gifted one?

    No, both offer the same Gold features.
